Introducing NRM Monitor: Your Community. Your Voice. Your Democracy

Public Other observation
Democracy becomes stronger when ordinary people take part. It grows when neighbours share information, citizens follow elections with interest and communities help one another understand what is happening around them.

The National Rescue Movement is inviting Nigerians into that shared experience through NRM Monitor: an online platform for civic participation, election observations and community conversation.

Whether you are voting for the first time, following developments in your community or helping others stay informed, NRM Monitor gives you a place to participate. You do not need to be a journalist or a political expert to contribute a useful observation.

Be curious. Get involved. Share your experience. Help your community stay informed.
Experience democracy together
Elections are about people as well as results: the excitement of a first vote, neighbours arriving at a polling unit, the patience of a queue and the work of people helping the process run smoothly.

NRM Monitor invites citizens to document those experiences, celebrate constructive participation and report concerns clearly. A useful contribution might describe how voting is progressing, highlight an orderly process or explain a difficulty you personally witnessed.

Participation can be meaningful and enjoyable. Follow observations from other communities, discover experiences beyond your own polling unit and join respectful conversations with fellow citizens. You can contribute by reading thoughtfully, asking a useful question or sharing a relevant report.
What you can do on NRM Monitor
- Follow community observations: Browse public reports to learn what contributors are sharing from different locations.
- Share what you witness: Registered users can submit reports for review, including descriptions, photographs and video evidence where appropriate.
- Find reports relevant to you: Filter observations by state, local government area, ward and polling unit, as well as election type and report category.
- Follow different elections: Explore categories covering presidential, governorship, senatorial, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections.
- Explore different observations: Report categories include the voting process, election results, reported violence, suspected electoral malpractice and other observations.
- Join the conversation: Signed-in participants can engage through comments, likes and sharing, helping useful observations reach others.
- Access the wider network: Public reports are available to visitors, while signing in enables participation and access to members-only reports.
Submissions go through review before publication. Reports may be published for public viewing or restricted to signed-in users. As the platform explains, community observations do not certify an allegation or constitute an official election result.
Plan ahead with the NRM Election Calendar
Participation is easier when you know what is coming. The NRM Election Calendar gives members a place to view upcoming elections and keep important dates in mind.

The homepage also includes a monthly calendar and a “Next elections” section. Readers can move between months and select listed elections to explore related reports. The full calendar currently requires sign-in.

Use it to plan your participation, discuss upcoming elections with friends and family, and set a reminder in your own phone or diary. Bookmark the calendar and return regularly so that important dates do not pass you by. Confirm official schedules and any changes through INEC or the relevant electoral authority.

Make staying informed part of your routine—and invite someone else to join you.
How to join the network
1. Visit NRM Monitor: Open monitor.nrm.ng and select “Join the network.”
2. Enter your details: Choose a username and provide your full name, email address and phone number.
3. Select your registration location: Choose your state, local government area, ward and registration polling unit. The form includes a polling-unit search by name or code within your selected ward.
4. Create your password: Enter and confirm a secure password, then select “Create account.”
5. Start exploring: Follow observations, open the election calendar and take part in the conversation. When you have something relevant to contribute, submit your observation for review.
New accounts receive the platform’s “Agent” access, which allows report submissions. This is a platform role; it does not confer official election accreditation or verify someone’s identity. The registration page also states that your phone number, email and precise registration location are not displayed on your member profile.
Observe with care. Share with clarity.
The value of the network depends on the care its contributors bring. Describe what you personally witnessed, distinguish facts from assumptions and provide the correct location and context. Positive experiences deserve attention too: an accessible polling process, helpful information or a community participating peacefully can all be worth sharing.

Keep conversations respectful. Avoid rumours, protect other people’s privacy and the secrecy of their ballot, and take photographs or videos only where permitted and safe. If you witness danger, prioritise safety and contact the appropriate authorities; an online report is not an emergency response.
Your invitation starts now
Democracy is a shared responsibility, and everyone has something to contribute. Your observation may help someone understand an event. Your question may encourage a useful explanation. Your participation may inspire a friend to become more involved.

Visit NRM Monitor, create your account and join the network. Explore the Election Calendar, invite your friends and share your democratic experience.

Observe. Document. Connect. Let us make informed participation something we do together.
